After having a fundraiser for teacher’s appreciation week for the teachers of Martin Van Buren High School (MVBHS), we realized two things. Firstly, everyone wants to help others in any way or form possible and most are just waiting for a person/organization to come along and ask for help before they can realize that they help. Secondly, not everyone is able to help financially and would help with their service. After learning this, MVB Alumni Association, and I decided to try and raise funds in a way everyone can contribute.

Since it is lockdown and everyone is mostly at home, one thing that everyone will be doing is cooking. So, we decided to create the MVBHS Comfort Food Cookbook, as now, like no other time, we are all spending more time at home cooking, and certainly, we are in need of any form of comfort possible. Our plan is to create a unique collection of recipes from all over the world, as teachers, students, alumni, and friends of MVB come together and share the recipes of their most beloved foods. We hope to share this collection of delightful dishes by selling eBook copies for $10 to raise as much as we can and provide for those students with the greatest needs within our MVB family.
